I noticed a lot of people don't like this actor or even the movie. The actor probably reads these comments and that is why he is speaking out so much now. He probably visits this site.

I hope the movie does well.

I was impressed after seeing Ashton Kutcher in an Interview on the Verge. He does seem to have a genuine interest for the whole industry and for the person.

In that Interview he mentioned that he used to write code in Fortran. After that I stopped seeing him as Kelso. :D

The only thing I'm really afraid of is the script. The trailer was really specific about Jobs seeing the potential of a PC while Woz was doubting it. Woz denied it being so in an interview. I hope they do a good job on the rest of the story and don't put their spin on things. I don't want to see a simplistic, romanticised version of Jobs life's story

WHAT THE HECK is up with all these Ashton Kutcher stories?

1-Ashton plays Steve Jobs (ok, thats cool)
2-Ashton talks about playing Steve Jobs (meh)
3-Ashton talks MORE about playing Jobs :)rolleyes:?)
4-Ashton talks MORE about playing Jobs (wtf?)
5-Ashton talks MORE about playing Jobs :)mad:?)
6-Ashton talks MORE about playing Jobs :)mad:?)
7-Ashton talks MORE about playing Jobs :)eek::mad:?)
8-Ashton talks MORE about playing Jobs :)mad::mad::mad:?)
9-Ashton talks MORE about playing Jobs :)mad::eek::mad::eek::mad:?)

How much more is this going to go on for? How much more can Ashton talk about playing Steve Jobs? Can MacRumors give this topic a rest already?!

Kutcher just likes hearing himself talk - like a politician...

There have been an awful lot of articles about this lately.

Woz is right (obviously lol). The movie said, woz: "People don't want computers!" IRL, Woz was a hobbyist, he loved to produce ciruits, and chips, and tinker around with electronics but never saw it as something more than a hobby, something fun. But he never doubted that people would want one or that they would sell etc.

"Kutcher explained the physical demands of the role, which included the mastering of the Steve Jobs walk over the course of the three months that he prepared for the part. Kutcher attributed Jobs' walk to his penchant for bare feet, which contributed to his odd lope. He suggested Jobs probably stubbed his toes fairly often, causing the unique gait where he picked up his feet while walking."

Really? Has AK never gone barefoot before taking this role? So people in third world countries walk like SJ? Don't most people pick up their feet when they walk? I'll attribute how this movie will be to Jobs' penchant for avoiding bathing.

Wow, and all these years I walked using my elbows. Guess that explains all the looks people gave me.... :(

Kutcher overplayed his role, it just doesn't feel natural, the voice the moves, plain imitation. I've watched the previews a couple of times trying to find it worth watching and i couldn't.

Un-talented

This movie should have been called "Hand Jobs" because that's what Kutcher had to give to get this role.... He is a completely untalented douche.

Well this movie is interesting because its the only one that has ever attempted to capture the swag of 80s Steve Jobs and who he was as the man who eventually built up to that level of confidence.

Its most appropriate that Aston Kutcher who used to be a high fashion model would portray that early era charisma most cleverly and capture the influential-ness of his American-Psycho-esque aura from the 80s. (which in part was due to his looks)

I mean look at this rare interview and imagine more what type of person he was in his private life, being a famous millionaire and all. And its all tied in together. Hes pretty much just "Sales Freestyling" in this whole thing.

I just wish they hadn't cast Josh Gad as Steve Wozniak.

Agreed.

And one step closer to the good Aaron Sorkin movie.

It might be a completely different type of movie. I still cant figure out how its only three conversation scenes. They better be some damn profound dialogue. (There might be, knowing the talent level involved; he DID make SportsNight)

Frankly, look wise, Kutcher doesn't really reflect Jobs. Jobs has incredibly sharp eyes, not to mention mind. Charisma, and so on.

SJ had a very unique and awesome personality, no one will ever be able to copy him.

Did anyone see "Pirates of Silicon Valley"?
It was a class-B ish movie, but I think all of the main actors did very well.
Not just Gates & Jobs (Noah While), in fact, the movie is narrated by both
the Woz and Ballmer characters from the IBM and Apple sides of the story,
and they do great as well.

Having watched the preview... Unfortunatly i get the feel that the characters are too unreal and romantsized....
Steve was no soft hearted angel ... He was a complex , driven and irrational and selfish more often than not.

I agree. Pirates was a closer representation of Jobs then this move will be. And even Pirates was not even close, they they knew it and made fun of it. This movie pretends to be 100% accurate when it's not even 50% accurate.

Chance of me ever watching this movie willingly? 0%.
