The thing that really annoyed me about this film is how they took small insignificant moments in a day to day life and made them so overly dramatic they became caricatures of themselves and completely unbelievable.

There is a moment where Steve talks to Johnny Ive about the iMac and Johnny speaks up about how its shape should be a specific way. And the camera slowly zooms in to his speech like his Martin Luther King. It was so stupid I turned the movie off and had it been on DVD I'd have thrown it out a window.

Just crap from start to finish. If you want a good film to watch check out Pirates of Silicon Valley. Way better film.

just watched but agree with you there. its known that jobs like ive and vice versa but to me this seemed like they were lovers or something. embarrassingly bad.

and for a two hour movie (which is not a lot when you consider apple, next, apple, pixar and then his private life) i felt how they handled his relationship with his daughter almost as bad as jobs own treatment of her.

said it in another thread but i would rather want a good documentary or series. i want the truth and not fictional nonsense with a hint of truth.

I hope it is still available on Netflix when I get home tonight. I was hoping to stream it last night, but it wasn't there. Instead I watched MUD and that was a terrific film. I also watched Paranoia, which was pretty good as well.

People talk about jOBS being bad, it seems like Paranoia is seen as way worse having only 5% on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to 27% for Jobs. (Mud on the other hand is way up there at 98%.)

People just have different tastes when it comes to almost purely subjective things like movies.

Woz Da Man!!

I just watched JOBS tonight on Netflix. I actually enjoyed it. I agree that it does fall a bit flat, but overall they did a decent job of it. Would Steve himself approve of this biopic about him? Probably not, but it's not horrible like some say it is on here. And yes, I think they should have delved into more about the products Steve created, and maybe even let the viewers know what was actually out there in the world of computers and electronics, before the Mac was first introduced. The same with the iPod, and the iPhone. Even though we lived through this period, it would still be nice to be reminded of what was out there, or better yet, what was NOT out there, before these products were introduced to the world.

But overall, I enjoyed watching JOBS.

;) ;) ;) ;)

Watched it last night and actually enjoyed it. I was expecting something really crappy given the reviews people on here wrote.

I sat down, expecting/hoping for a "Social Network" level of quality from this film- it's not a bad film, but not a tenth of the level of intrigue I was banking on. The book format biography of Jobs was more riveting. Hope someone does this story more justice eventually, but I am impressed by Kutcher's grasp of Steve's idiosyncrasies- he just didn't have much to work with in that script. :(

Did you see/read anything about this particular movie at any time before watching it?

I enjoyed it. A mix between movie and documentary, it's more a series of events than any kind of hollywood story. But that's rather the point, its a dudes life, the process of what he did and (somewhat) why he did it.

If you want the absolute best single Steve portrayal, wait 10 years and watch only the best. Of you are hungry for anything Steve, this has lots of Steve. I would watch again just for the garage scenes.

Watched it today and didn't think it was as bad as most are making it out to be.

It was fine for a movie. Not documentary level but neither was Pirates.

I dug the inclusion of things like Steve "dropping in" to calligraphy class at Reed. A brief mention of Next, seeing Scully, Amelio, and Ive portrayed on screen. Some parts of dialogue definitely felt forced and contrived to "make the dots connect" but I still enjoyed the flick nonetheless.

Enjoyed it!

I enjoyed the movie and it was much better then I though! I'm not an Ashton Kutcher fan at all, quite the contrary, but once I got past that it was very enjoyable.

I think people that don't really know his story might not get it. I've read his book and watched most anything about him. The movie was good, not spectacular and Pirates Of Silicon Valley was much better! But it is definitely worth the watch.

Keep an open mind and get past who is playing Steve Jobs! If you can, just try to pretend it is Steve Jobs you're watching. Then it just might get you to enjoy the story. I know it's hard, and I can't for the life of me understand why they cast him to play one of the most important Genius minds of our time!

I'm a big Steve Jobs & Apple fan and think our world lost a very great man! Just look at what products he created, as well as the products/ideas he improved and brought to life!

He truly revolutionized, and changed our world for the better! Yes, there is a few more, and Bill Gates is one! But Steve Jobs always made quality and the user experience the priority, NOT the bottom line! If you make the product with the intense attention to detail & quality, the bottom line will follow!!!
But first you need a vision, he had the right one 99% of the time!

They're showing this movie in the break room at work. I have 10 minutes left in my break, and I feel like just cutting it short. Terrible acting, terrible movie.

Casting an enthusiastic vote for this movie.

I never was a Kutcher fan either, but he won me over with this role. I thought he did an excellent job, and I hope his career proceeds to more dramatic roles, and less of the Jennifer Aniston type parts.

I thought the portrayal of Jobs was fascinating. I never met the fellow of course so I can't say how accurate the portrayal was, but it seemed to line up with what I've read and seen from other sources.

Although many parts of the story were unflattering to Jobs, I thought the movie did a good job showing his faults in a realistic human context, and I never felt he was being unfairly demonized. He was a brilliant nerd, and speaking as a nerd myself, we are generally not known for our social skills.

I cringed when Jobs angrily kicked his pregnant girlfriend out of the house for the crime of announcing his coming first child, but you know, people do horrible things like that sometimes, brilliant people included. What redeemed that scene was when Jobs retreated to the bedroom by himself, and wrestled with his demons and his decision.

I thought that scene summed up Jobs to a great degree. It showed he wasn't a monster, but was instead a human being who made a choice that changing the world was more important to him than anything else. I don't agree with that choice, but then unlike the brilliant Jobs, I'm not in a position to make such a choice either.

I'm sure I'll be watching this one again.
