Ashton Kutcher is a douchebag. It's an insult to the Steve Jobs legacy and its an insult to the Jobs family having this ass clown cast as one of the greatest legends of all time. Screw this movie.

Looking forward to this. I like Ashoton Kutcher and I know he has a real passion for Apple stuff so he would have not taken this role lightly.

This doesn't even make sense. It's like saying I wish the Beatles albums were never sold again because we're monetizing Lennon's death.

The most influential people always get bigger when they die, because they can no longer make any mistakes, and we are supposed to only remember them for the good they did.

I agree with the bottom half of your response.

Whether these films are done with well intention or not, I'll be glad when these films are finally released and people can stop monetizing Steve's death.

I think you meant that people are monetizing on Steve's image and history upon his death? I haven't seen anyone monetizing on his death. While I do get your feelings on the matter, monetizing on a high profile person upon their death is very common. Michael Jackson, Elvis...etc.

monetizing on Steve's image and history upon his death
Yes, that is exactly what I meant to type. I guess it doesn't really bother me that they're making money upon his death. I just wonder what kind of movie they would make without worrying about netting the largest audience to sell the most tickets.

Wow **** me, but I honestly thought that his voice and his overall presence is seriously similar to Jobs, especially later in his life.

Still wish Noah Wyle got the part instead of Kutcher. Long live Pirates of Silicon Valley

One of my all time favorite movies. I think Noah Wyle did a hell of a job and Pirates has always been incredibly underrated.

I will say this though. I had the opportunity to see Ashton and Gad speak at MacWorld this year and I was surprised to hear how much Ashton has actually been a mac user and fan over the years. Although Ashton doesn't sound the most intelligent the man is actually quite intelligent and the level of respect he holds for Steve is pretty awesome. I went into the presentation with the thought in mind that this movie is going to be horrible but he proved to me that he has a level of understanding for the part that makes him qualified. Now we just have to wait and see if he can pull it off well.

As I become older I am more aware of how much of my time is wasted. This movie would contribute to that.

Ashton Kutcher cannot act. They should have employed somebody else who couldn't act to play Woz. Like Jack Black. Then maybe alter the script to make it a very weak comedy.

And then maybe tickets would sell. :p

a bad feeling...

ugh, the Steve Jobs dialog is *terrible*. This is how Hollywood people think that tech people speak, adding in the existing Hollywood tendency to Spell. Everything. Out. Until. You. Want. To. Scream. You think that Steve Jobs walked around spouting the kind of things he said in his keynotes? Give me a break. How can scriptwriters have such a tin ear? The dialog in "The Social Network" was a bit better, or maybe that film just had better actors selling it. In any event that film had an edge. This one is obviously going to be predictable Jobs hagiography with cringeworthy dialog very much worthy of "The West Wing." Maybe it will premier on Lifetime.

Honestly this movie is a joke... Why Ashton Kutcher and Co. were in such a rush to make this movie is beyond me. Sony pictures bought the rights to the jobs biography right when it came out and they've been talking about Aaron Sorkin writing the screenplay ever since.

Money. If they beat the Sony Picture to the chase, that's likely more money to be made even if it's a steaming pile of fantastical bs.

You realize this will never stop. Look at history and people that had a big influence, people never stop talking about them and creating shows or monetizing on what they did.

I agree, but I would rather see the JOBS Broadway musical or Apple on Ice than this watered down attempt at a film.

Funny how you mention "The Social Network" and "The West Wing". Aaron Sorkin wrote both. And, he's rumored to be attached to the Isaacson biopic.

Don't take it too seriously. I'll probably download it and watch it while hungover on a Sunday. If it's good fine, if it isn't, it's still two hours where I would have be just been on the sofa anyway.

I will reserve judgement for the movie until I see it.

I will judge that clip, though, now that I've seen it. And while there were a couple of good moments, there were some cringe moments too.

Seriously? Jobs was a huge douchebag as well...so it would seem fitting.
