Apple can't be expected to be everywhere, Its just not possible for them to be in every country overnight. They will go where the demand is and where they can work out an agreement. Just because they are not in a certain country doesn't mean they are ignoring those citizens, It just means that its not economically viable to invest money or that agreements can't be met to suit either side.

We don't even have TV programs yet, what a joke, and they wont let us buy from other EU state stores, which is against the freaking LAW!!!

Well, my interest is piqued. Any legally-competent Mac owners care to comment?

Guess the iTunes store doesn't work that well over the alternatives. I'm one of those people, i have 5 bought songs the rest are aquired (not meaning they are illegal)....

I have friends in a very similar situation.

We don't even have TV programs yet, what a joke, and they wont let us buy from other EU state stores, which is against the freaking LAW!!!

It's a good service, but please make it fair for all...

Why is it against the law?

Taiwan and Hong Kong. Then there's also the originals.

And Malaysia, and many other asian countries.

I actually don't care about the piracy much. The attitude of people in places like Hong Kong has to change before an iTMS-like store can ever be successful, and right now, the way people see things will change very little. The government basically has to start enforcing and "force" people to care if anything is to change.

I think it's smart that Apple stayed out of the Asian market. They can't win that market right now. Maybe later....yes.....but not today, and not this decade.

It all has to due with licensing. Someone in the UK brought a suit against Apple a year or two ago about the pricing of the store, and how it was higher in the UK than the rest of the EU (after being adjusted for exchange rates). Apple's defense was essentially: we licensed the content on a per-country basis, so don't bitch at us about different prices. Get your damn copyright laws in order and slap the record companies in line before you come after us.

My response is: Just use the damn Euro already.
