Asians, particularly Koreans, use ^^ a lot instead of the traditional :) or :) or =)

When you see ^^, do you naturally recognize it as a smiley?

Do you already use it? I've seen my European friends using it on MSN.

Ah, so that's what that "cat ears" thing means. Ta.

(Put me down as a not until now)

Me rikey.

He's missing the lips from the smiley. It's suppose to look like ^_^

it's an anime inspired smilely. I use that type of smiley when writing for anime fans. ^_-

^_^ has evolved to just ^^ these days. ;)

I see the double things like that and think it's a reply to the post above it.

Guess I was wrong.

In forums like this, I get it to mean the post above.

In Asian/Anime forums (I don't ever visit em, but some of my friends do, and if they link me something) I reference it to mean a smiley face.

My friends on IM/Text use it, and it doesn't bother me one bit. Though, I still don't see myself ever using it.

I use normal smileys like :) ;) :p :D :(

Oh, another one that one of my friends uses a lot is ;_; meaning crying. I get it, but I still don't see myself ever using it.

Big Smiley fan here...

It's interesting..... and I like the idea of it being right side up... ^_^

How bout Cyrillic Smileys? . ҄ж ҄ ? or . ҅_ ҆ ?

Sorry if the characters won't show,
Keri, Кери, whatever... :p

I see these smileys on facebook a lot

=u=;; (what are the semi colons supposed to represent? a horrendous breakout of acne or something?)
=A= (I didn't know my mouth was larger than my face)
