I know that windows up samples, downsamples and dose all kinds of rubish to audio before outputting it. On windows you can install ASIO drivers and some other stuff to go around this.
What about mac, what does OSX do to audio when played back through itunes, and is there anything to do about it?

I think that is why you bought Mac OS X, it simply works and you don't need to mess with it.
