So I sent my 24-inch AL iMac to an Apple store for repair because of a defected LCD screen. They responded very quick, 2 days and it was done. Unfortunately, I went to the store just to find out that they put two dings on the base stand. Minor but I can clearly see them, the paint was chipped off and the base is dent. So I asked nicely if they could do something, the Apple genius said yes and would gladly replace the stand because they would like to make me happy. Is that too much to ask? Update: 6 out of 6 said it was the right thing to do.
