So I sent my 24-inch AL iMac to an Apple store for repair because of a defected LCD screen. They responded very quick, 2 days and it was done. Unfortunately, I went to the store just to find out that they put two dings on the base stand. Minor but I can clearly see them, the paint was chipped off and the base is dent. So I asked nicely if they could do something, the Apple genius said yes and would gladly replace the stand because they would like to make me happy.

Is that too much to ask?

    Update:
6 out of 6 said it was the right thing to do.

No, not at all. If you made the dents, it would be, but if they did, of course not. I sent in a machine three times (originally for a bad screen) because every time I got it back they had dented/scratched something new. In the end they recased the entire thing.

You would have been wrong if you did the following .....

Did not take the computer to Apple, come here and RANT about how the Apple Service people ruined your iMac.

This happens all to often. People come and complain about how bad Apple Service is because Apple may have damaged their unit yet they did not contact Apple to remedy the situation.

Thanks for the first 4 responds! After some thinking, I thank myself too, for responding right at the Apple Store... imagine if I had walked out of the store and went back... they could have easily dismiss me.

Now I hope it'll get fix nicely, and no more troubles. I would hate to have them fix the stand but cause another dent or ding somewhere else.

Definitely the right thing to do. They damaged it, they fix it.
