My PowerMac keeps asking me for my password everytime it comes out of sleep or out of the screensaver. I've disabled the setting in the security prefrence pane and the setting sticks until I reboot the computer, for some reason it keeps getting re enabled automatically. Anyone know why? Thanks

you could try repairing permissions, that usual sort of stuff. also, it might be worth it to check out Apple KnowlegeBase, there might be a fix for this issue.

or it just might be some weird problem that can't be fixed unless you re-install OS X.

how long has this been happening for? are you the only user on your Mac? do you use an admin account?

You might need to zap the PRAM, or the internal battery might need to be replaced (if the latter is true, your clock may also need to be reset with each reboot).
