Hello all:
I have a question. I still have my Dell desktop that I still use. It is connected to two HP 24" monitors. I am wanting to be able to connect my MBP when needed. I was going to get the mini DVI to VGA adapter (the open adapter on one of the monitors) but the feedback regarding this type of connector on the Apple site is terrible. Any suggestions? Thanks Jenny...

Wait.. which Macbook/MacbookPro are you trying to connect?

The 15.4 alum. 2.53

Is it the new one:

or the old one?

If it's the new one you will need a Mini DisplayPort -> DVI Adapter

If it's the old one it should work right out of the box since it does have a regular DVI port on the right side of the machine.

The new unibody.

Ok, then you will need a the Mini DisplayPort -> DVI adapter that I linked to above.

You should not get the Mini DVI -> DVI since it won't fit, it's the one that the old Macbook's use.

How is the HP monitors currently connected to your PC? If they're connected over DVI it can be quite the hassle to switch back and forth between two cables if the monitors don't have dual DVI inputs.

What sort of monitor is it? Model? Port configurations, if any..

Anything with a DisplayPort regardless of it being a mini or full is kinda hard to find at the moment, new standard!
