I've researched this but to be honest I'm more confused when I started...

    What I have:

An old aperture library full of RAW & jpg files with edits applied (probably badly edited...) est. 10k photos.
A current photos iCloud library with around 1500 photos and videos.

    What I would like:

A consolidated photos iCloud library keeping all my current iCloud photos with edits, and adding all my top rated raw photos with edits from my old archived aperture library.

How can I do this? I have tried adding some but when viewing 'all photos' they are effectively sorted by date added rather than date taken.

Essentially I just want to add in some of my best memories to my current library but maintaining their full quality and edits.

Thanks but no thanks, they are probably miles better but this isn't really for photography, more holidays etc. Just want to use built in...

    How about this process:

1- Download a copy of the iCloud library and take it offline.
2- Open a new lib, enable it as iCloud then delete everything on iCloud.
3- open my aperture library in photos, enable as system library and enable iCloud library, let the upload begin.
4- open the copy of the original iCloud library I saved in step 1 and enable as main lib and let it upload.

This should move all my old aperture photos to iCloud with edits, originals, and chronological order preserved, whilst also adding the current library back in so everything is consolidated and in the right order.

The all photos album is sorted by date added. Use the photos tab if you want to browse by date taken.
