Wow, that's amazing. And who cares if it's almost $2000? It's still less than the 1.83 Ghz MBP, with way better specs. That's going to make the $1299 macbook with a core duo 1.66 and integrated graphics tough to swallow. And it's really not bad looking, either. Not apple-sleek, but not half bad.

edit: the $2000 price is for the 1.83 Ghz version. So that's more in line with the MPB.

This may sound dumb, But dot these run Winblows XP Or Mac OS X? If I get one of those babes would it be legal to install MAC OS on these instead of WINDOWS?:)

*Prays Apple won't put integrated graphics in Macbooks*
They will use integrated graphics to seperate the real machines Pro from the lesser machines. You can count on it now that CPU's are upgradeable.

Well you can always pray...

And who knows, maybe they will just use a lower end GPU like the x1300. I just really want to play a little HL2 on my next mac notebook.

If I wanted Windows I'd definitely spring for that Asus if it turned out to be of decent build quality.

I hope Apple will have something similar to offer.

Windows. And No. ;)

That 12.1" Asus with the 1.3MP webcam is cuuute. :)

WOW!

Looks like my next computer! Windows is not the only OS you can put on a PC these days!

I heard that the Macbook will have 2 colors, white and black, so my bet is on that the Macbooks will look just like these. Not bad!

However, I´m going to get a Macbook since it will look like these, but I need to get a dedicated graphics gard.

I just hope we see a MBP in this form factor. I just recieved the return shipping label for my 15' MBP and I think I am going to hold out until next week to ship it back to Apple. (I have 30 days)

If there is a 13.3" MBP with same/similar specs as the ASUS, I'm in!!!

Am I the only one who finds it odd that these come in white and black? I know Apple isn't the only company making white and black notebooks but Asus's stuff seem too stylistically similar to Apple's. Asus is supposed to be manufacturing the MacBooks and they release their white and black notebooks a week before Apple will (allegedly). Seems a bit fishy.

I hope that the iBook/MacBook comes with integrated graphics...the whining will be taken up to new and exciting levels...from people who would have never bought one in the first place...

Wow. My budget is only 1500$ at max. But if this is what new MB turns out to be I`ll beg, borrow, or steal money to buy it the same day. Amazing specs for such a small machine.

nice...

maybe we will get 13" macbook PRO's after all......... :)

I really, really, really hope so. I love my 12" powerbook and a 13.3" would be killer. My 15" was a little too large to lug around with me in comparison. I always though that the 12"ers were relatively popular for Apple so I hope they don't get dropped from the product grid altogether.

my hope is that they offer a range of options. I think integrated graphics on the low end is definite... but that's fine with me if they also have a 13.3" macbook pro or allow custom configurations of the macbook so that it approaches those specs.

And from people who do actually want to buy one, but don't want to settle for a sub-par product

Only sub-par if you're a gamer....and what gamer uses a "small and light" class notebook?
