I wanted to add a 2nd monitor to my MBP docked situation.

Went with this Asus and will not connect via the HDMI--> HDMI connection,

Snow, Snow, Snow....

My primary monitor is connected via display port to DVI connection.

Any ideas ?????

TIA

"Snow" shouldn't show up at all using a digital connection. Are you sure the monitor isn't selecting the VGA connection?

Agreed, nope it is on HDMI 1 which is where cable is plugged.

As soon as I connect it I see the Mac screen for a brief moment with electrical type dots, then goes to snow.

Do you have the ability to change the refresh rate on the HDMI output? Perhaps its on a different rate than the monitor uses?

- Have you tested other inputs on the monitor or the same output from your MBP with other monitors? That could help determine where the problem is.

Must be the monitor, tested exact same cable and input from my working monitor... bummer.....back to best buy
