At $1299 Apple should base MacBook with the core m5 processor

    They don't offer i3 MacBook Pro's, so the just as expensive MacBooks should not come with m3's as well in my opinion.

    They need to earn their money somehow. Remember, Apple is quite poor at the moment.

    It would seem that the step up. Macbook m5/512 would be the same price (or less) as MBP i5/256. Instead of $100 more.

    Not to mention 2 usb 3.1/Thunderbolt 2 ports vs 1 usb 3.1, support for more/bigger external monitors.......

    It's not cheap being small. With apologies to Kermit.

    The difference between the m3/5 is nothing like the diffence between the i3 and i5

    I think we can count on next year's MacBook being cheaper. Probably $1100 for an m3 and $1300 for an m5, and the air gets killed off.
