Can't wait to use it once it is implimented.
God knows it'd save a lot of confusion here on MacRumors.

    Nice...:D

Perhaps there is a need for a way to indicate sarcasm on other sites, but as Raid has expressed so succinctly, we have a way to do it here on MR.

I was about to link to the same thread.
Although if I am being sarcastic I try to make it real obvious.

Doesn't using that font, call for a mandatory caning??

I like the left-handed italics myself, well, because it is a left-handed comment.

We just need a way to set this as the default style. I don't see a profile option....

It is amusing reading a heartfelt response to obvious sarcasm, then somebody replies that "your sarcasm meter is off" or something and you like to think that the stupid person who missed obvious sarcasm knows they were stupid and tries do get smarter in some way, or at least retreats into a live of sad loneliness and doesn't reply to any posts.

Why take that all away from us?

I always think a good bit of punctuation works wonders. Contrast

That'll work! (add extra  for emphasis)

    with

    That'll work ...

Sarcasm is understood in context, and really if you punctuate or use an appropriate smilie you can't really go wrong.

Unfortunately, in some cases the smilie-haters are the very ones that need them the most. Humourless gits. :)

Agreed. Part of the fun of this place is watching a topic get derailed by the one lone guy who doesn't realize that what he is responding to wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

(And come on...we've all been that guy once or twice.) :D

    :p
