It seems upon reading the news that AT&T is focusing on improving their network where it is currently and not too focused on bringing 3G coverage further out.

I am living between Panama City and Pensacola Florida, and every 4 months I get the same reply from all different levels of AT&T management...dont worry sir, 3G is coming to your area in 4 months or so. It is discouraging to hear new talk about a 4G network and no talk about further expanding 3G coverage.

Dont think there is anything I can do about it unfortunately. I feel left behind. Is increasing the 3G coverage area "merely" about changing over or modifying existing towers, or does it involve whole new hardware?

I know how you feel, i get the same thing from att. The town 50 miles north of me that is half the size of my town has 3g and yet we have the top air force base in the US and we still dont have 3g.
