Netflix is a useless service. I get way more value out of Amazon Prime. And the included streaming is just an additional benefit to me over the Prime pricing and shipping.
Useless to you that is.

You're not providing me with a service, though.

I'm providing you with as much service as that extra $15 to AT&T provides (read: nothing). So if you think it's okay for everyone to pay an extra $15 for nothing simply because "they can" then you might as well pay me $15 for nothing because, well, you can. Your logic, not mine.

If you don't get it by now then you never will.

What a dick move. I recently activated a MotoX and a new iPad and the ATT store person in both instances was crowing about how there were finally no more stupid activation fees.

This won't affect my rate unless they charge the fee when I buy a brand new phone from them by paying full price and not touching anything on the current family plan.

This is total BS. Sounds like a money grab to me! After my 2 year contract is up, I'll be looking to another carrier for service!

Myself and Netflix's 57 million (probably more now, just going off Q4 2014) subscribers are going to have to disagree with you. Thanks though.

Have you checked T-Mobile's coverage lately? They have upped their game a lot in the last 6 months or so. They now have more 4G lTE coverage than AT&T and it's faster.

When I switched two years ago from AT&T to T-Mobile, I nearly switched back within 30 days due to poor coverage. Heck, the best place I got a signal was in my bathroom of all places at my house. I even tried to get them to provide me with a cell tower but got denied. I was so pissed then they came out with "Wifi Calling" and I decided to give them a chance. Two years later, I'm so glad that I did. Still some ****** signal and data at certain locations but so much improved from the time I joined two years ago.

They are conveniently raising these fees with the 6S and 6S+ right around the corner....

Would be awesome if T-Mobile would buy them in a few years - that would also give them a much better (and needed) coverage area. (coverage is the only thing that I might regret when switching to T-Mobile, but I will check the updated maps)

T-Mobile is still doing their Test Drive: http://explore.t-mobile.com/test-drive-free-trial so you can see how coverage really is in your area.

I'll rephrase. Netflix is an overpriced service. From what I have seen content doesn't provide enough value. I understand that is purely subjective.

I would imagine that once they start bleeding off tons of customers to T-Mobile they will change their tune. It is exactly this type of behavior that that will make folks leave in droves. I am upgrading my sister and neice Saturday and am seriously considering T-Mobile. One of the advantages to buying an iPhone outright is when they decide to pull stuff like this I can easily leave them behind.

I moved from AT&T a few months ago to T-Mobile. I don't see a difference in coverage or performance of my device (I live in a city so that helps) but I see a huge reduction in monthly costs. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO glad I got out from under AT&T. They are nice enough but they want an arm and a leg for a service that pretty much will be one charge a month for phone (no measuring gigabites, messages, minutes used). FYI bill moved from $150 a month to 80 a month.

I'm more disappointed in att not allowing the iPhone to be purchased from Apple on a 2 year deal anymore.

Where/when did they change this? I thought I read this and can't find it now.
I asked at the Apple store and they said they're still selling them this way.
(Assuming you mean, it's time to upgrade my iPhone this fall and I want to buy it from Apple).

Right, just like many things in life can be seen as unnecessary or overpriced for different people. Doesn't necessarily mean that those services are useless or even not good as services/products overall, just simply that those particular individuals don't need them or aren't finding as much use for them.

Exactly. I think Netflix is a GREAT deal for as much as it gets used in my family.

I live in the city so most always have coverage. Can't remember the last time I didn't have coverage.
Unfortunately often enough even in cities with overall good coverage in quite a few places a lot of buildings will just essentially not have any inside.

I was already planning on ditching AT&T for T-Mobile once band 12 iPhones are available (strongly rumored to be in the 6S/6+S phones due out this fall). This only adds to my motivation.

Same story here. Ihave both t-mo and att now. t-mo is beter and better from. LTE12 iPhone and I cancel att. And it is not only me. Att has couple more months to live :))))

No surprise. I was reading about the FCC's upcoming approval of their purchase of DirecTV and they claim it will lead to lower prices and better customer service. Yeah right.
