So I just got my first ATT bill.

I have the basic 450 mins + 1500 texts, $30 data plan, so hypothetically my monthly service charges should be $85.99. But my bill says otherwise:

Previous Balance
$0.00
Payment Posted
$0.00
BALANCE
$0.00
Monthly Service Charges
90.66
Usage Charges
0.00
Credits/Adjustments/Other Charges
45.35
Government Fees & Taxes
2.37

TOTAL CURRENT CHARGES
$138.38

Why am I getting charged $90.66 for this month, and 45.35 in Other Charges? I know there is a $36.00 activation fee, but this just isn't adding up...

Am I always going to get charged 90.66 a month for services that were supposed to cost me around 85 a month + taxes?

Few things...90.66 or whatever is about what it should be for 85.99 plus tax.

secondly, you really should pay the extra 5 bucks for unlimited texts.

Ok. Why would I want to pay for a service I probably won't use? I will never use 1500.

Your bill sounds right to me. You might want to look at it and also call AT&T. They would be able to answer your question(s) better than we can :)

That would be the case if it didn't say "Government Fees & Taxes 2.37" above. It seems that the 90.66 is not including the fees and taxes.

But he said:

No one's fees and taxes are $2 per month. That's impossible. So how much was he expecting to pay?

I got it, lol at myself, I didn't scroll all the way down the pdf to see the breakdown. The prorate is included in the 90.66.

Yeah, the 90.66 is NOT including taxes or fees.

simple. was this a new AT&T account or did u switch from a non-iPhone account to an iPhone account? the extra charges if you were between billing cycles was a pro-rated amount.
