Got the AT&T carrier update to 19.1 today after updating to iOS 8.3. Not seeing anything on the internet about it so I figured I would post here. Anybody know what's different?

Got the notification at the very end of the 8.3 update via iTunes on my Mac. Someone will soon figure out what's new/different.

Well for starters, VoLTE finally works right on the global unlocked A1522(i.e. "Sprint") version of the iPhone. It would drop to 4G before.

I'm hoping it is finally activating HD voice. I have AT&T and got the update. Rumor has it AT&T and Verizon HDVoice will be compatible.

Sprint got HD voice today with their carrier update 19.1... Just checked on my phone and there's no option for HD voice, which I assumed because I have an iPhone 5c.

I would assume the carrier update would improve cellular reception and how the phone behaves on the network

HD Voice was activated on AT&T a while ago. I think this happened with the 18.1 update.

HD Voice is rolling out by area with AT&T. We've had it in Chicago for a while. It worked fine on the "AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon" iPhone 6 (A1549), but until yesterday's update it did not work on the "Unlocked" iPhone 6 (A1522) even though it technically supported it. There must have been something in the carrier settings that they fixed.

Woah! - America still doesn't have HD Voice standard?

That literally blew my mind. Every carrier here rolled it out back near release of it.

HD Voice in Atlanta is awesome

After reading this thread I looked at AT&T's HD Voice coverage. Every time I call my buddy in Atlanta the call is crystal clear. I mean noticeably so. I have an iPhone 6+ and he an iPhone 6 and we are both on AT&T. Now it all makes sense. I never really considered why it was so clear but this threat cleared up the mystery for me. Thanks!!

He's right. I've had HD voice before with a previous carrier and I can't tell the difference between HD and non HD voice.

Then you haven't heard AT&T's version.

In terms of audio quality it takes it from a 2/10 to 8/10. It's pretty much the same as audio FaceTime calls.

Sadly, I don't know what it sounds like because, although I live in the second largest metropolitan area of the US, it's STILL not available anywhere near me...
Good job AT$T... Keep up the good work.
