If I had one of those cappuccino carts, I could make a killing selling to people in line.... :D

They, and probably everyone, would be better off if you were peddling valium instead.

I suspect we'll hear stories of rioting and fisticuffs in one store in some mid-sized city. Meanwhile, there will be orderly lines some places and no lines other places.

I like the coffee cart idea. I might actually do that! :)

I wonder if the demand will be so great people who can get one can re-sell it via ebay ala PS3 and Xbox systems.

I've been hearing a lot of hype but no real buzz.

Note: when this happens with flicks it's not a good sign.

we shall just wait and see I guess

The problem is that with movies, everyone in the line will buy one ticket. The ratio of just-lookers to buyers could be quite high. I really really hope the iPhone can score in the first days to get some positive press attention. We don't want headlines going "iPhone sells slower than expected", because that would really slow down sales

whats the chances of getting one a week after launch day

(depends when student loan comes in)

I doubt there will be news of riots/fight/outbreaks etc. because people who shop at the Apple Store and want to see the iPhone are civil, middle-upper class consumers and are not thugs/working-class looking for launch night trouble at a Wal-Mart or Target.

I've heard that BBQs will be taking place, however.

My Apple Store will be closing after lunch on friday. :( Reopen at 6pm. I'm torn between going home for a few hours or wait in the Mall for 4 hours. If there are no lines I would end up spending money in the stores.

Well, the first point of reference is the Apple Store. When they are sold out (as many analysts expect,) buyers will run to AT&T.

Yeah!! RUN like in Pamplona in July
