Again, you are now adding in "Reasonable."

Are you suggesting AT&T should accept Renzatic's advice on how to handles it's 100M + subscribers? I guess you have all the information you need to plan capacity globally on the AT&T cellular network?

This argument seen on this site, and many others, boils down to people wanting to take advantage of the situation (I call it LEECH). AT&T made one big mistake and that is the they should have canceled the unlimited plan right when they ended the offering (almost 7 years ago). Instead, they were gracious to their customers and it has ended up that most of these customers are likely not the appreciative type.

AT&T has the FAR BETTER network in almost all respects. I think AT&T would do themselves a favor and just cancel the plans, and let the unlimited customers go if they choose. Likely this will further improve the network and they can continue to run away from Verizon, Spring, and T-Mobile.

It is T-mo sweet dream Att cancels UDPs.

Good for you. I guess it will feel better getting unlimited data with slow speeds when everyone else gets the same slow speeds (and terrible coverage). Then you can complain about T-Mobile's lack of coverage and maybe you will realize that when everyone gets unlimited, the speeds are SLOW. Good Luck!

Okay, since you're obviously all knowledgeable about this, explain to me, in your own words, how the internet works. Specifically data and bandwidth.

If t-mo and Dish merge, then At&t(and VZW) will be in a loose-loose position. T-mo + Dish will have more spectrum market value than Att or VZW now.

In Boston T-mo is faster than Att, but Att is still cheaper for me. I like that we have t-mo in the area since a lot of people use it here and don't use Att traffic.

T-mo + Dish+ LTE12 on iphone 6s = Att/VZW killer at present plans. This is T-mo plans without Dish spectrum:

Just add some Dish spectrum and you will have the best cell US provider with German roots.

T-mo is still loosing to Att in terms of coverage, but it will be there in 1 year. Also they point themselves as a small provider to get more from FCC , but they have Deutsche Telekom behind. Sometimes to win the race you should "look in the rear mirrors".

I think that t-mo cancel low price unlimited data very soon.

When I bought my iPhone 3GS I was forced to the $30 unlimited plan. If I would have gone non iPhone I would have the $20 unlimited plan. Today, the last day of my billing cycle ,I reached the dreaded 5 gb unlimited limit and the throttling began. Email will not load, and no web browsing as no pages will load. I guess I leeched too much bandwidth and overloaded the AT&T network. I should be punished severely for my abusing the great network. If I paid $50 more a month I would get 30gb plan, which would not overload the network. Or I can just get a dumb phone and leech off a restaurants wifi. Maybe a prepay phone would be better.

When you bought a $30 unlimited plan 8 years ago, you couldn't download 5GB if you pegged your phone all month. Now you could download 100GB+ (or more if you share data). Might try and buy a plan a bit more current. AT&T should have canceled unlimited and grandfathered no one. But as a leeches, I guess AT&T owes you the ability to download all you want for $30. Everyone owes you. Good grief.

Funny that article does not mention AT&T's acquisition of DirecTV which is almost complete. Sounds like Verizon might be left out.

Att:tmo throtelling score 21:5 now :) With no tethering from att at all
You just hit the nail on the head! You buy a 2007 plan that gets canceled and you want unlimited throughput to go with unlimited data, so you can tether and only pay $30. All of that = LEECH and that is why AT&T should not have been gracious and should have flat out canceled unlimited.

Good luck tethering the ever so SLOW - T-MO :0)

I want to have unlimited data for less. I also want CEOs stop getting millions.

You kids are so naive. Fine ATT a Billion dollars, eh? The gummint gets the money, and ATT subscribers get to pay the fine in the form of higher fees. Brilliant thinking.

Well, I pay for my data and I don't want a slower network because people expect everything at cost and hang on to their 7+ year old plans so they save a few $$. I appreciate that any carrier throttles that.

As far as getting it for less. You need to study business. If you expect any carrier to sell to you for no profit, they will have no means to invest in the future technologies with you will "want" It is a business. AT&T (and others) put huge as into making networks that are as fast as your cable connect. My AT&T throughput on my iPhone 6 beats Verizon FIOS (Fiber). Look at pricing over the last few years. You can get 30GB or 40GB with several devices for around $150 a month. Back in 2007 it was $100 for one phone and 2GB.

Pay for your data or buy some spectrum and build your own network.

Let Tim Cook know you don't approve of his wages. Also, let Apple know that they shouldn't overcharge for EVERYTHING. They have $250Billion in the bank. They don't need the money. (or do they? wonder if they need money to research and develop? hmmm That's acceptable. But only for APPLE. Everyone else, do it for free) LOL

No tethering on ATT? Coulda fooled me. I've been tethering, with no jailbreak, on ATT for about four years.

I think he is referring to tethering on unlimited plans. While I don't have one, if I were AT&T, I would not allow tethering on a grandfathered gracious unlimited plan. I think you can only tether on family share but I could be wrong.

Peace. :) I'm a customer I want to pay less and to get more. I'm just want my "indifference curve" shifts to the right only.

Hey, my man Macboy AT&T Pro! Did you hear the latest news about AT&T raising the throttling limits for grandfathered unlimited accounts? Great news for loyal, grandfathered customers! But I'll still enjoy reading your "if I were AT&T I'd cancel unlimited data" posts. Keep 'em coming!
