You may keep your phone if you pay the difference between the subsidized price & full price. Yet that's not a good idea since it's useless on Verizon.

If you choose to follow the advice above, and want to preserve your credit, as well as keeping it legal, I highly encourage you to read the contract you are currently bound to.

It's a legal binding contract, you have no power to change it. Nor do you want to find yourself in the position of being rejected by other carriers because you're in default.

Never underestimate how serious the carriers are. They have the best legal teams in the business. The odds are against you.

Terrible misinformation here. Did you read the OP????? Att are kicking him out THEY are breaking the contract. The OP gets out of the contract scott free, gets to keep his iphone, and does not have to pay any fees. Get over yourself

What MVNO are you getting service from now roaming with your AT&T Sim? Wouldn't the obvious answer be signing up with them where you know you have coverage? Just have AT&T unlock the iPhone.

ST doesn't even require an unlock... but really, I want to know how you managed to use too much data in a partner EDGE area... usually partner EDGE is barely functional, if at all. Props to you!

You could buy a Tbolt or D2 or iPhone 4 or something on Ebay, active a no contract postpaid line with Verizon, and sign the two-year when the iPhone 5 comes around.

Pretty obvious to me. Keep the phone. Get a basic no long term contract deal with the carrier that is already handling your service.

( I do not understand all the ideas of going with Sprint or Verizon - maybe they do not have service there... hello?)

EDGE is just enthralling. Especially compared to Verizon 4G LTE.
