Ok, sorry but get ready for more speculation. Perhaps this backs up a theoritical 3 iPhone 4S models and 3 iPhone 5 models? Sounds like too many but I haven't had my coffee. You guys let me know what you think the 6 models might be.

It could be 2x iPhone 4 (black and white) and 4x iPhone 5 (2x black and 2x white, 2 of each for two different storage sizes). Probably the most logical guess going by history anyway.

Doesn't seem too irrational. As someone in the article stated:

    •2 iPhone 4S black and white 8GB
    •2 iPhone 5 black and white 16GB
    •2 iPhone 5 black and white 32GB

Memory is so cheap Apple needs to just make them all 32gb!

So you only get 4gb if you get a white, but 8 if you get a black? :)

True but why should they do that when they can get you to pay $100 more to get a 32 GB instead of 16? If there were a microcard slot you could upgrade it yourself with a 32gb card for only $45 to $49.

With the new iCloud, I don't think they're as inclined to worry about on-device storage.

    Could also be:

    • 2 iPhone 4 8GB (White, Black)
    • 2 iPhone 4S 16GB (White, Black)
    • 2 iPhone 4S 32GB (White, Black)

That's what Apple did last year with the 3GS and iP4

Or, how about the more simple plan of:

    iPhone 5 16/32GB black.
    iPhone 5 16/32GB white.
    iPhone 4 8GB black & white.

The 4 already has a listing in the system and wouldn't need a placeholder. You need six unannounced new configurations to make the numbers work. I gotta think its two new models with that many placeholders.

The new 8GB 4s' that are expected to come out should get a new place holder, as they have a new SKU.

Aren't the colors listed as separate SKUs?

    16gb white iPhone 5
    32gb white iPhone 5
    16gb black iPhone 5
    32gb black iPhone 5
    8gb white iPhone 4
    8th black iPhone 4

    6 new SKUs total.

Of course, could also be this:

    iPhone 5 16GB Black
    iPhone 5 32GB Black
    iPhone 5 64GB Black
    iPhone 5 16GB White
    iPhone 5 32GB White
    iPhone 5 64GB White

    Here's hoping...

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

Actually there is no iP4 8gb. Hence the new listing.

    The article clearly states

They never said all six placeholders were for new devices.

I would be very surprised if it was that combination. It's more likely they will have a budget 8GB iPhone 4 or 4S as well as 16GB and 32GB black and White models of the iPhone 5.
