I like this option, because it doesn't require a Jailbreak, but they had a LOT of trouble working on OSX Mavericks. Something to do with the wifi driver or something.

I have no idea how this will work with Yosemite, but I'm *hoping* that they have been preparing for this and have it working for Yosemite release. If they do, I think it could be a great solution! Itether requires a subscription? Screw that. I used to have a tethering app installed on my phone that had temporarily made it into the App Store before apple pulled it. However I can't remember the name of the app. I'd really like to be able to tether my data from time to time however I love my flat rate $30 a month "unlimited" data plan more.

Ironically the app that you can't remember is iTether before it was pulled as a standalone app, and they had to make it subscription based.
