You Cry Babies

I love how people in this country cry about anything when it's too late! Suffer and pay higher bills you sapps! MONOPOLY

I have complained for 6 years when cell companies started buying each other up. Hardly anyone was with me. I wrote to my elected officials and to newspapers, but not one reply was sent back to me. MONOPOLY.

I blame all of you for sleepling and not paying attention to what was going on. Now there's not much competition and there will be a lot of raping. It's just not the cell companies, many more industries in this country are consolidating or being bought up.

Too many people don't care until it's too late and they blame others.

This is your Country, Congress, Senate, and President. They work for you, but we have lost so much and fell asleep. If I had a lot of support and most of informed, smart America spoke up, then there would have been a difference. Read history books! One problem with this country.

Now AT&T will be the largest and eventually raise prices throughout a few years. I said it about texts plans. Keep this post, because unlimited voice is coming!

UNLIMITED VOICE is coming soon and there will not be a choice.

T Mobile WILL be AT&T unless theres some smart leaders in the government. It's going to the courts now, but AT&T buys what they want to.

SUFER. ADD THOSE BILLS UP A YEAR. THEY ARE HUGE WASTE OF MONEY.

no necessary

So, I managed to just call in and keep my 5$ messaging plan and the 30$ unlimited calling data plan, plus my 39$ 850 minutes plan.

so, it IS possible just apparently not SEAMLESS on the website

Did you call in after buying an iPhone on the Apple site, or did you decide not to buy online because of what the offerings were that were listed, and then call and order by phone instead?

I just called in as none of the online options, apple store, apple store APP or att.com site allowed me to keep/pick my current options.

Same for me, I think I considered it once, and I remember thinking that the person would see a different number, and thinking that you'd have to either give them that number as your new number, or tell them you had 1 number for calling (your regular number) and 1 for texting (your GV number).

Seemed like too much of a hassle. But maybe I could just start using my GV number and tell people I rarely text its my new number. Then people I text with all the time use imessage and cancel my text plan completely.

Still annoying, but I'm now determined to try and find a way.

And to the person that said they changed this a few months ago...yes they did, because of imessage's announcement in June.

People just save the number in their phones anymore, not like they have to remember 2 different numbers...not too big of a deal. Biggest problem I have with GV is no MMS support.

haha yes, I am not a big phone talker, I have 5,000 rollover minutes, and with the way iphone messages are threaded, usually people talk in aim-like rapid fire messaging. Instead of saying in 1 message "what are you doing? Feel like going out?" They do it like this:

Message 1: Hi
Message 2: What are you doing
Message 3: Feel like going out?

They turn what could be 1 message into 3, and I do the same thing, bc people who text alot had unlimited texting and the iphone UI for texting with the threads made it simple to do it that way.

Don't forget all the "lol" in between.

This is going to piss you off even more. If you had selected "none" you would have kept your current text plan.

Yep, I found this out the hard way, and I've spent 10 minutes on AT&T chat and 45 minutes with customer service, trying to get them to reinstate my text plan. No dice.

Uh... Any idea where I'd check this? I don't remember picking an option for texting but I want to be sure. I'm assuming the new contract doesn't go into affect until I receive and/or activate the phone so I'm not sure where to look.

Actually for most younger people nowadays, its the voice that is the rip off. $40 for 450 minutes (a rip off by itself) of which they may only use 100 or so?

Definitely true, I have 5,000 rollover minutes and probably use 150 minutes/month on average.

For younger people, it's all about text.

Also with the Any Mobile 2 Mobile now included with the texting, there is even less of a need for minutes.

So I've just decided to use Google Voice. Just need to figure out everyone who texts me and tell them I got a new phone number. The people I frequently talk to I'll keep them on my official ATT number since they should go through imessage, and we can still do MMS.

I've been testing it today and it works well, just put the app right next to the messages app, and the notices and everything is working great.

AT&T is actually going to lose money from me, because I would have just downgraded to a $5 or $10 plan, now I'm cancelling my sms plan completely and going through GV & imessage, just b/c it's so blatantly obvious why they eliminated those plans which I consider a slap in the face.

Basically, "we know you're not going to text as much anymore, so you either keep your unlimited, or pay us per text".

Can't wait until my contract is over, I can't ever get a good connection in any place even moderately crowded anyway (restaurants, train station, anywhere in NYC).

the Unlimited Text package also comes w/ unlimited mobile-to-mobile calls. Any mobile, not just AT&T to AT&T. This has actually helped me out a lot. But I think it's unfair to those who don't need such services.

A company wants to make a profit? Those greedy bastards!

this is a stupid argument...of course companies want to make profit, but does that mean they are justified in doing everything they can to get more, more more?

Raise our voice plans tomorrow to $150 for 400 minutes, $100 for unlimited text, and $200 for unlimited data. Yes, they can absolutely do it, but while the rest of us are getting mad, going to another carrier, or finding a way around it since we can't leave right away b/c of contracts, you can just keep saying over and over again "they just want to make a profit, what's wrong with you people!".

I think everyone understands the motive for what they're doing, but that doesn't mean they have to like it, or take it...in my case I'm not, I'm circumventing text and leaving AT&T when my contract's up.

People have the right to vent - have you looked at the first page of threads on this forum? 75% are venting, about the new iphone, AT&T, or Verizon, or Sprint, or being screwed over on their preorder, etc etc.

Apple.com allowed my to keep both unlimited data and the $5 texting plan when I ordered this morning. I'm looking at the receipt I printed off right now. Messaging plan is listed as "iPhone Messaging 200" for $5.00 and data plan is "Unlimited Data" for $30.
