I'm returning from deployment in 29 days and thinking about closing one line on T-Mobile (I love T-Mobile to close out my account completely...best customer service ever) and picking up a iPhone 3GS. However, with recent snafus like the Google Voice debacle it has me rethinking the whole thing. Nonetheless my questions are:

1.) Service in San Antonio? Drop calls frequent?
2.) Can I use Skype using just the data plan instead of my minutes? And how? I already use Skype on my iPod touch and enjoy the Skype plans.
3.) How does the color white fair for most iPhone 3GS users? Meaning wear and tear and etc.
4.) Are you satisified

1. San Antonio is Southern US, so AT&T has a strong hold there. In other words, best carrier around.
2. No. Skype is limited to Wi-Fi use only if you plan to dial out. You can chat on Skype though.
3. On the white it's easier to see hairline cracks and also its easier to see if its dirty.
4. Yes, yes, yes I am.

I would get the phone, with no contract.
Jailbreak and unlock it
Don't cancel you Tmobil account
Take your tmobile sim card and put it in the iphone
Use Tmobile and save a lot of money.
