I didn't think this was ever a question on AT&T. They've yet to announce when they'll opt to force you into their new plans like VZW has.

Ian on Verizon and just upgraded and still have unlimited data. What new plan are they forcing people into?

I will happily announce that for all of you clinging to the Unlimited Data plan, it will still grandfather over to the 5S. I upgraded from a 5. I did a full subsidized upgrade (paid 299 for my 32gb)

I don't think anyone was worried about losing their unlimited data while upgrading to the 5S.

If you've never had unlimited do you think someone at ATT (like a manager) would be able to add it on even though it's not officially available? I only ask because I've seen some people who had unlimited got it accidentally removed and when they called ATT put it on. I feel like if you have connections you can probably just get it added?

AT&T is telling me no as I try to activate my 5s at the moment.

I guess you have a few options. Fight as hard as you can right now and/or threaten to not upgrade and switch to a different carrier. Or you can just suck it up for now and then complain on the phone.

I guess it depends. Do you have a store connection or a connection in corporate? I have a few friends who work at a retail store and even though they are a manager, they don't have the authority to do a lot of things (like unlocks) and you have to call up the corporate customer service line.

And even if you did have a corporate connection, I don't think they would stick their neck out to give you something you were never allowed to have.

They do not. The plan isn't available in their systems anymore. However, a few of the high ups in corporate still have the option to re-add it to accounts that lost it accidentally. But it must have been on your account at some point in time for them to add it again.

What's the point of AT&Ts unlimited plan if they throttle you down to snail speeds after 3GBs of usage? I left the plan last year with the iPhone 5.

These days I'm on the 5GB plan which also offers tethering. This plan qualifies for my FAN account so I pay only $40 for data. It's a good deal considering the "unlimited" data plan was costing me $30 a month.

Because it appears the throttling isn't a widespread issue anymore. I pay $30 and get unlimited data. The last 2 months alone I've used over 13GB each month. I hate LTE now both where I work and at home. My Wifi is unreliable to my room, so i just stick with LTE. Haven't been throttled ever since I got LTE.

Yea well everything comes with a price. That unlimited T-Mobile data will do you wonders once you step outside of a city and are on EDGE (2G).

This is true. A lot of the areas near me are EDGE only.
However ... I don't really go there? So it's a trade off.
