If you are getting the upgrade through NEXT, just reserve the phone through Apple. I did that Saturday morning for 10 AM, walked out of Apple at like 10:30.

After I got the phones, AT&T Premier said the phones have been sent to shipping. That same day (Saturday) about 6-8 hrs later I got the notification from AT&T. Phones officially shipped today, and arriving tomorrow. So I wouldn't be surprised if your phone arrives this week.
I ordered my phone 16 minutes early, and still no signs of anything. Hopefully others have much better luck than I

My phone is definitely on its way. Left Memphis around 2 this afternoon, credit card was billed for the taxes Next upgrade, now just waiting for it to arrive at my front door tomorrow! Also seems I'm one of the odd balls, mine is coming UPS, this sucks they normally don't deliver to my house till around 7pm, FedEx would have gotten it here by 1pm.
