AT&T iPhone X Pre-Order Process

I'm sure that this has been addressed in some sort of capacity on this forum but I wanted to make sure that this was specific to my case.

Like many of you, I am currently planning to pre-order the iPhone X. However, I am unsure about the actual process once the site goes live on the 27th.

Currently, I am trying to practice run on the Apple site right now via AT&T and the iPhone 8 but stop after Apple asks for a one time 6 digit passcode as I don't know if it will solidify my order or not.

Can someone please break down what exactly happens and what information should be prepared ahead of time for the most efficient pre-order process?

I think the 6-digit passcode is specific to your AT&T account

Well, this occurs after I have entered in the AT&T information. Apple then sends an SMS Message to my phone for the one-time passcode. It seems as if once I enter this that it may confirm the purchase. Am I wrong about this?

I wonder if AT&T will have any deals to make it a better choice than the IUP.

I’m with ATT as well, tried a dry run last night and received then entered the code, all that happens after that step is it takes you to the purchase options, ie 12 or 24 month financing or outright purchase.

Seems like the the iOS app requires the passcode also. Testing this with the 8 makes me nervous (like the OP), but I'll do it
