    So... allowed to take it home before it's activated?

    No, they'll activate it. It just won't be operable until it's tethered. From the article, it's clear that the tethering process is separate from activation as it is there to "unbrick" the phone.

    yeah, I saw that... not exactly sure what that means.. the info is contradicting..

    Unless they mean, you have to sign up instore, but can take it home to tether????

    At this point it's anyones guess as to what the "real" deal is...
