The difference is, once your contract expired under the old plan, your monthly bill didn't decrease.

Also add to the fact that you MUST buy a new phone every 2 year to make the phone bill worth its weight, which increases how much you pay if your paying an additional $200 each time to upgrade your phone.

In these new plans, for someone who doesnt mind using their phone for over 2 years, it really pays off.

It's only $130 without included the price of the phones. Add in the price of 2 iPhones on NEXT and it's $200. You'll be getting no more subsidies on that $130 plan. AT&T has already done their math.

Do you have to enroll in NEXT or can you get that price bringing your own device?

I'm gonna guess more people than not on theses boards didn't let contracts expire before upgrading to every new incarnation of the iPhone. Fair to say?

Not really sure on that. Take me; I had the original iPhone 4 for quite some time after the 5 was released. I have an orignal iPhone 5 now, and frankly, will probably keep it for at least another 2 years. It does everything I need and then some.

For me, switching to the new family share plan, 3 iPhones, 10GB for $125 a month after FAN discount was a no brainer. I've been waiting on this for a long time.

When the time comes that I am ready to buy a new phone, I'd much rather just pay it straight out of pocket than have an inflated cell phone bill each month. Besides, I'll probably keep the next one 3-5 years also. :)
