So the question is simple.

Do you think AT&T will increase their network coverage (especially in those areas with crappy reception)? Do you think this will be through their own motivations or a lot of coercion from Apple? I can see Apple having this kind of power over AT&T. I would hope that this will be a priority on AT&Ts list of things to do that Cingular never got around to doing. Anyways, what do you all think?

Cheers

I would like to hope that it's a total 'duh' on AT&T's part. I can't seem to scroll through one TV show on my DVR that doesn't have the iphone plastered all over in commercials. Apple is definitely spending...I hope AT&T is.

I've seen a steady improvement here in SoCal for the last couple of years with Cingular (now ATT)
Agreed, especially in San Diego albeit it was after I moved back to Orange County. Hopefully they will continue this increase though, particularly in areas that they know have problems. Hopefully increased revenue from all the iPhones will help nudge them to put up more towers, etc.

I remember when I used to live right on the border of LA/SB county, we wouldn't get signals on our sprint cell phones until we crossed into LA county...and within a year or so they had coverage well past us.

That's Sprint 10 years ago though not AT&T now, but I would have to believe that AT&T would be doing everything they can to add coverage where it lacks.

But who knows.

I've noticed it getting better within the past couple days, last week I went to work and had absolutly no cell signal while in the building. Now I get at least 3 bars pretty much every where in it give or take a few spots :D

I would hope so. AT&T coverage is really average down here while other companies seem to have better coverage (in this area that is).

Would hope that with all these purchases, AT&T would put some more money in Edge/Coverage services.
