I've been waiting on a shipping/box label for my trade-in on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I decided to look at the trade-in email and it said use the shipping box/bubble phone wrap and label from the new phone shipping box. This used to be a no-no. Did AT&T changed the system?

Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe the new phone will come with a return box. Does any of this matter?

I would just follow their instructions. You can't go wrong that way. Maybe take some pictures of the box as shipped back with appropriate labeling.

Like you, I was unsure at first. But when I shipped out my trade in using the included label, my trade in status updated as in transit.

If you want to return your new phone, the instructions say to request a return label

I included the original box, but it’s probably not necessary

Look better than the Apple return box. You could easily peel open the box end and steal the phone in seconds. FedEx ground stole mine but Apple paid anyway.
