I am trying to figure out how to keep my AW from losing it's cellular connection. I set it all up, have used it as a primary device without the phone nearby. Unfortunately, when I decide to run just BT to the watch, it loses the connection and I have to try multiple times to reactivate the cellular via the iPhone app. This is absolutely counterproductive. If I forget my phone, then I'm essentially without a device, period. That's the whole point.

Having said that, I like to keep Wifi on both devices off and only run BT the majority of the time. Is this not an option? That shouldn't matter. The battery on both items is greatly increased if I only turn BT on the phone.

Thanks,
Chris

Sorry that you are having an issue. However, I am not clear on why you have to use what appears to be the Watch app on your iPhone to reactivate cellular service. That has nothing to do with NumberSync and sounds like a different problem.

Could you explain further as to why you can't just toggle Airplane mode off/on on you watch to trigger LTE activation again. If you have Wi-Fi disabled on your watch, you should be able to just toggle Cellular off on your watch and then back on again to activate LTE service on your watch.

I use my watch every day for about 3-4 hours with out my iPhone and Cellular service works fine. When you have an LTE signal is it more than 1 dot?

Note: when you are out of Bluetooth range to your iPhone, it can take up to 60 seconds for your watch to switch to Cellular service. The watch really is very stingy about actually using LTE untill it appears clear that it cant regain a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection again.

Sorry for the late reply. Work long hours prevents much internet time. It seems to have worked itself out. What was happening was that trying to activate cellular popped up a message that said "no cellular plan associated with your apple watch..." on the watch itself. IOW the gray cell shortcut was inactive. So I'd go into the watch app on the phone and have to attempt to reactivate the plan, which was difficult at best. It would lose connectivity within a couple hours. NumberSync is required with AT&T to have a separate device on your plan. Everything I have read states this, and the AT&T website even shows NumberSync paired for the watch and phone.

For some reason it appears that the issue isn't happening anymore. So perhaps it was an AT&T issue with the new device. It's not lost the connection since.
