AT&T off contract iPhone 5s

Hello,

I was looking at the off contract iphone 5s over at radio shack.
They only sell them through AT&T and the guy said it would
need to be unlocked by AT&T after i buy it.

How would this compare to buying one unlocked from apple.com?
What do you think is better?

Sounds like you might want to try the iPhone forum (rather than an iOS one).

Apple does not yet sell unlocked iPhone 5S (but the T-Mobile version might be unlocked)

AT&T has a policy of unlocking off contract iPhones if you pay full price
