whats the point

whats the point of being lucky to live in a area with 40 megabit AT&T 4g lte if you are afraid to use it because you will be charged an overage ?

even if tmobile is 20 mbit in west san jose, they won't charge you an overage

200 free mbit plan stops when data is exhausted and resumes the next month
post paid tmobile plans slow down after you reach your cap

I love reading all the comments about unlimited t-mobile. Cracks me up. You get unlimited data at a SNAILS pace. I guess on T-Mobile you go full throttle for 30 days and still can't hit 3GB, but that is still considered "unlimited" LOL

id rather be a snail and save $50 a month on my wireless bill

what i hate is how we are getting completely ripped off on data on "share plans" a 6 gb share plan is $120 plus $10 to add your iPad. a prepaid 5 gb iPad plan is $50 a month.

you can still get a at&t national plan. $89 for 450 anytime minutes plus 5 gb and a separate 5 gb iPad plan for $50 for a total of 10 gigabytes for $19 more then what AT&T is raping you on their share deal

you can get a regular AT&T national plan by going to amazon wireless and buying one of their phones like that cheap samsung galaxy s4 for 1 cent. thats the same phone that AT&T sells its new customers for $200

AT&T just loves saving you money, don't they ???

tip : what your paying for data is not part of the contract, you are free to scale your data up or scale your data down as long as you want and you would still be honoring your contract.

uh, they are not raping you because rape is forced. As you said yourself, they offer other plans. I personally save a TON of money by using the shared data plan with my families iPhones and iPads. My bill is at least $90 a month cheaper.

Aren't the mobile share plans decent these days? They cost about the same as a GoPhone plan pound for pound (not including taxes though), and once you start adding devices and tablets it gets better.

I think the issue comes from ATT not subsidizing the phones anymore but charging the same price, but I thought they were offering $15 off per line, per month? That's a savings of $360 over 2 years, add the usual $200 we used to pay to upgrade every 2 years and you have $560 which is fairly close to the price of an unsubsidized flagship, almost a break even situation. Even their next program has the $15 cheaper plan, and you have 0% financing with no activation fee so you are basically buying the phone unsubsidized but don't have to come up with 600 clams all at one shot and you pay no interest.

I'm not an ATT fanboy, I'm actually on GoPhone. But I've been thinking about going back to post paid mainly for the things GoPhone is missing like facetime over LTE and tethering. Can someone break it down and tell me what is so onerous about what ATT is doing? To me it seems like they are doing some good stuff.

Last time I did the math, I had 2 family line on contract with separate data plan.
I end up paying more to switch to the "shared" plan...

The new $100 bill credit is also available when customers bring their own device. That is, users who already own an iPhone or cellular iPad can open a new line on a Mobile Share plan and receive a $100 bill credit with no commitment beyond 45 days.

I have three. Thanks for the FREE MONEY.

What my question is, is if I just upgraded to an iPhone 6, got the offer for the iPad, and am a existing customer, are they charging me for the data plan on my phone and for the iPad separately or together.
