Looks like they're updating their site.. Maybe fixing the eligibility for early upgrades in 2010? Hopefully!

Is it down for anyone else?

They're anticipating a 17 hour outage? That seems a bit excessive even for a major upgrade.

Also went to check upgrade eligibility at apples website and it would not work.

Whatever I know I am eligible for the 199 pricing :)

I can't login either. Not to disappoint anyone, but I couldn't login a few days ago either. I thought maybe my eligibility date would change, but when the site was back up, it didn't. BUT, I don't think I got the same message I'm getting now. I believe it was some kinda maintenance message, but different from the one I'm getting now. Fingers crossed.

Neither could I, but it was a maintenance message. I was able to login about 5-7 minutes ago now I can't. i was able to login early today and all other days. and its weird that the online site is down as well as the check your upgrade feature on your handset.

OH *****!

Apple's upgrade check ain't working either, just like the guy above said. It'll let you type in your info as usual and it starts "processing," but never loads your prices. It just goes back to the screen asking for your information... I think this is it! Maybe we can all finally put these damn questions to rest!

For better or for worse haha.. especially the ones who sold their phones early.

::Crosses fingers::

I think some people are taking this a bit too seriously. AT&T's site often goes down about this time on a Saturday evening. I just means they're doing a software upgrade. I don't think it's something to leap to conclusions about.

Too serious? AT&T wireless is down... Apple's eligibility check tool is down... and AT&T's SMS upgrade check is down... and as of 12am tonight, it'll be a Sunday and we'll only be 2 days away from preorder. I imagine tonight would be the perfect night to update their system.

Sure, they may be putting preorder stuff in place. Or they may not (trust me, these kinds of downtimes happen all the time, even when no new phone is due). Either way, to conclude that that means upgrade eligibilities are going to change is seriously leaping to conclusions. And it's certainly not worth an "OH *****!"

I'm hoping that you're wrong, but i wouldn't be surprised if you are right.
