I received my 12 pro and am doing the $800 trade in credit. The box came with a return label but it says it’s for exchange. Is this the same label I use for trading in my phone? I’d hate to send it to the wrong place.

Agree. Use your own box and pack it right for secure shipping. It’s the shipping label that’s most important. No, you don't use that label. That's for returning the new device within 14 days. You should have already gotten an email from AT&T that you will receive another package within 5-7 days sometimes longer to return it in. I would not honestly use that package as it doesn't protect it and put the phone in a box with the label. Or just take it to the AT&T corporate retail store and trade it in. I have always had issues mailing it in.

It’s because they make their money via service. Not hardware sales. Locking in the customer for 30 months is savvy business by them.Anyone surprised on the trade in value that ATT IS OFFERING? This is a good deal
I just received my iPhone 12 Pro today and I am glad I read this thread! However, I have another pending question. I still have my old box with the original cord and headphones UNUSED. I have sold empty boxes on ebay before so I know it is worth SOMETHING to SOMEONE. I am assuming, AT&T is only looking for my device to return and that is all or will the value of my trade in go up if I send in EVERYTHING?
You're correct. I took in my box and unused headphones and they stated they can't take the boxes due to the data and part number information on the boxes. They just take the phone.I just received my iPhone 12 Pro today and I am glad I read this thread! However, I have another pending question. COOL...maybe I can make $20-30 off the box. You're correct. I took in my box and unused headphones and they stated they can't take the boxes due to the data and part number information on the boxes. They just take the phone.
Wait - people actually buy empty iPhone boxes????I just received my iPhone 12 Pro today and I am glad I read this thread! However, I have another pending question. I am glad I read this thread, it highlighted the offer that AT&T is currently providing. For sure I am not going to get sucked into a “contract” with AT&T. Their ad is very misleading but I am not going to get suckered to trading in my 11 Pro Max.new old way of locking customers in, brilliant

This is what makes me not happy... they actually end up not even paying you the value of the phone if you upgrade every 12 months (like I normally do). I might turn in my old iPhone X because that would give me about $360 in credits which is more than most other companies would give for trade-in. Or I might just sell it. Be very careful with this offer... $800 sounds good but holding onto a phone for 3 years not so much for some people. They also know that if we then upgrade before 30 months, we forfeit some of the credits.
Weird, but yes. I have sold my empty 24 inch Mac Monitor box and my 2011 17 Inch MBP box...just check eBay!Wait - people actually buy empty iPhone boxes????
I bet this rakes in a lot for AT&T with most people unaware of the details. They also know that if we then upgrade before 30 months, we forfeit some of the credits.
I upgraded to the 12 Pro and just turned in my X today. I have to say, the X was lighter, felt more comfortable in the hand and was over all quite perfect. I just needed more space than 64G and the 11 - 512G sold out quickly.
