Been in an Ongoing battle since Friday (preorder day) with AT&T and my 4 Apple Watch Lines.

All four lines were paid off, and had upgrades, so I put in upgrades on all 4 AW Lines for the Series 4 Preorder. Everything went through, card was charged, got a confirmation number. The night passes and all 4 lines are showing the AT&T next balance on them for the new watches but the orders have been went into "Action Needed". I called AT&T to see what the issue was and no one knew. First call said I would get an email in the hour confirming the orders. Never did. Went into the store to see what was wrong and after 2 hours it was claimed to be fixed and that I would receive a call to confirm everything. Never did. Decided to try the live chat next, after a couple people I was told that the orders were not working because watch lines could not be upgraded.

So now I have 4 lines that are still suck as having a balance now for watches I won't receive, and now the shipping dates are at least a month out (I had the Friday Sep 21st delivery on all 4 watches when I first ordered them) if I want to order 4 watches on 4 new lines.

Seriously the work experience I have ever had.
 
Exact same thing happened to me, my iPhone Xs Max order is just fine but with the Apple Watch the exact same problem happened. After 3 hours of arguing with customer service the only thing they could tell me was that my only option was to cancel the order and place it again. For some reason they can't edit the order to add the supposedly "missing information" even though they can't tell what the "missing information" is. My plan is to wait and see if it's just a glitch and my watch actually ships at the same time as my phone, if it doesn't i'll go to local AT&T store and get it there and cancel the order I made online.

Same issue here. Was notified on Sunday that the order was "pending" because of some missing information. The only option provided was to cancel and reorder. They wouldn't clarify what this missing information was so I could prevent this problem. Was told to order directly from a b&m store instead. Originally had release date delivery. I'm not bothering with them again.

Update, my end solution was to cancel the old lines and just create new lines pre ordering the watches on them.
There was no cancelation penalties since I had already paid off the AT&T next balances on the old lines. What a nightmare.
 
I agree, but I guess it's not worth the effort on their end to create the necessary connector for carrier payment options.

They already have it for the iPhones though, with all the resources apple has can’t be that much of a trouble to just import it for the watch as well.

It’s different for wearables though. I assume the only similar portion would be implementing the installment plan.

AT&T is showing a Friday 21st delivery date but, I'm skeptical. We will see.
 
My preorder experience sucked with AT&T because of their website... kept running into pages with buttons that I could not click in order to continue. It finally took chatting with a sales rep to get the order pushed through, but by that time it was past 4 am and I am now sitting on a 10/1 to 10/8 date. I am going to attempt to go to the store Friday to do the order there and will cancel my preorder if I can get it in store. With the way they usually get stock though, not holding out much hope.

My situation is similar to yours. I was using four different devices, but it took multiple attempts to place a successful preorder to the issues with the app and site.

Exact same thing happened to me had to talk to someone in the chat to get my order to push through.
 
Nope. Still sitting 10/1-10/8. Though I have heard that some people have dates out to Feb 2019, so I’m thankful I was able to get in when I did. I’m still gonna try the stores periodically, but it looks like I will have to wait it out
 
Well I should have done that, mine never shipped and cant order now cause the one I want is out of stock so I guess I just cancel the order and order it from Apple instead and wait a month for it.
 
I just moved to Preparing to Ship too. 44mm SG Aluminum with Sport Loop. 10/1-10/8 delivery window.

Can’t wait to get my hands on it!
 
When you get the watch through ATT with financing, is the watch locked? Also do they charge an activation fee when you are replacing an existing series 3 watch on the plan?

Would they charge an activation fee if I bought it from someone else?

I think they would charge an activation fee if you activated it on your plan... regardless of where you bought it... However, they do have a promo right now that if you buy it and activate it through AT&T, you get a $60 credit within 3 bill cycles for 3 months of service and the activation fee.

As for locking, I don't know. I would assume so, but maybe someone with an S3 they are handing down can answer that...

Apple Watches are not locked.
