So I just talked to AT&T. The guy tried to argue with me that I did not meet the requirements for unlocking the phone. I told him I did meet all the requirements, and that I bought the phone at full price. Finally he says "to help you with that you need to email your receipt to decviceunlockreceipt@att.com." I sent the email so we will see.

The agents sometimes just don't have clue about anything.

So sorry to bump up a January thread, but what happened after you emailed your receipt….did they get back to you? how long? did they unlock it?

Nope never got anything from the email. I have not gone out of the country or needed to use another sim, so I have not done anything more. If I do need to I will just go into the AT&T store that I brought it, and show them my receipt. I think it will work.
