AT&T shared upgrade at an Apple retail store

I don't know if this has been asked somewhere, is it possible to use an AT&T Shared Upgrade to join AT&T Next at an Apple retail store?

I thought that Apple would only do NEXT and if you wanted any thing else you had to go to ATT.

By shared, do you mean using someone else's upgrade on your account? I don't know for sure but worst case, you can order on the upgradeable number then switch sims (or take it to AT&T if you need new sim for size). I've done this before - I have a mobile share account.

That is what I mean. I'm on the family talk nation 700 plan. My line is not eligible for an upgrade but another line is.

That would be my other option.
