Hello, this is not so much a question (well it is), as an observation.

On tuesday night, my friends and I went to go see harry potter at midnight. Usually at the theater, (we all have iphones), we all get 5 bars of 3G, however tonight we couldnt even get an edge connection. We were all hovering around 1 bar of service and no service at all. The only possible explanation would be that there were a little over 300 people all standing in line to see the movie. Could it be that the at&t network got overloaded with texts/calls even that late at night?

Just wondering

It's more likely that maintenance was occurring on a tower nearby.

Usually when the network is bogged down you still get all your bars, you just can't do anything with it.

No, all your friends texting would have nothing to do with the bars. Could it be the building? Yes! Structures, stuff like that, would affect the signal. Also, the service might just have been loopy at that time. Who knows, but it had nothing to do with you all texting/calling.

No, many people texting will not affect your signal. Perhaps since it a wireless SERVICE issue, you can contact AT&T or ask their forums.
