So who else is planning on waiting in line at AT&T this Thursday into Friday? I think this would be a good thread to report on what you're hearing from your local stores, what theyre getting, if theyre getting any X's at all.
Its been reported by some that their AT&T stores already posted signs saying no stock on Friday.
I have 3 in my town, and I called one which said they wont know till Thursday, but the guy didnt seem like he cared enough to answer even if he did know so I'll take that with a grain of salt. I called the other 2 but they didnt pick up the phone, so I'll try again in a little bit.

I'm really hoping AT&T stores do get stock because the closest apple store is a 2 hour drive from me.

EDIT: Got in touch with one of the other stores, they said no one will have the X and its preorder only, sounds like BS to me.

EDIT2: LOL even more BS from the other store, "Only 3 AT&T stores nationwide are going to get them for release day. The only apple store thats going to have it is their HQ store in Cupertino." Like you can't just say no, you have to tell me blatant lies??

Retail store near my house in FREMONT, Ca stated no iPhone X deliveries on launch day. Coming from a rep I regularly see....bummer

If I wanted to go line up at apple though I'd want to do so by Wednesday night. Its kind of a gamble at this point.
 
Called my local AT&T store in my hometown on Long Island, NY (Im at school in TX now, the stores I called previously are in East Texas.). The Long Island store said they will have phones, they just don't know the exact inventory such as color, storage, etc. He said they'll know that by Thursday.
I think the issue is you need to speak to the managers. Doubt the regular employees will know anything.
 
The last time I lined up at an AT&T store was for the 3GS.

I was 15th or so in line, got a black 8gb model. They ran out of phones at around 35 people deep.

They did however, get a shipment later in the afternoon that contained around 20-30 phones.

So if you do call Thursday night or talk to them Friday, see I’d they may have a supplemental shipment coming for later in the day.
 
I live in a semi-small town, we have 2 AT&T stores and 2 Verizon. Not one will have X this Friday.
 
Called a store an hour away and they weren't sure if they were going to get any either.
 
I spoke to all stores in my nearby area (around birmingham, al) - no at&t stores are receiving stock for launch day. no stores are opening at 8am - most are opening at normal 10am time. ... sad.
 
I'm going to set up my chair and bring popcorn. Okay, just kidding. Good luck to all those who wait.
 
AT&T store rep here, we were passed down on Monday that very few stores in the nation would receive any inventory for this weekend. We aren't even opening up early and don't have to work open to close like normal either.
