I was on support for AT&T because my iPhone wouldn't use data. I could call but received no data. Then the tech support told me they own Verizon.

I marked not satisfied at the end of the chat, they connected me with a chat resolution agent with this response

"Mira F: We do not have any updates regarding that so we are not allowed to say that Verizon is now with AT&T even if there is a plan to acquire it, we do not have any information about it."

What is going on? Is AT&T supposed to be buying Verizon?

I can believe this came from AT&T, if it was Comcast they'd probably say the same. They really take their customers for idiots.
Random agents for random businesses can and have said all kinds of random things, unfortunately. Doesn't really say much one way or another about anything aside from just that basically.

I wish I screen capped my convo earlier, it was such a joke.... I received a notification for going over my data usage (I have Unlimited plus and am currently at 8gb in), it went something like this.

Me: What gives
ATT: You have reached your data cap, we suggest you turn data off when you are away from wifi.
Me: doesn't that defeat the purpose of unlimited data.
ATT: Yes it does, but it will prevent the notification from showing in the future.
Me: well thanks for nothing.

Maybe they own some small regional carrier that spells verison with an S lol.

Or perhaps he meant that they Pwn Verizon - but that would still be false :D

There is absolutely no way on gods green earth.. that wouldn't even make it past the first vote... it wouldn't even make it past the bargaining table.

No that would never happen. Especially with T-Mobile and sprint looking to merge. And AT&T already buying time warner, to much of a monopoly. Even if At&t did have the money to buy them. Which they probably don’t.

Is that even real? There no date for when the article was written. Also I don’t think abcnews go is a reliable source.
It's ABC News' web site. Not sure why that would be unreliable in the sense of that type of news.
