We're just a few weeks away from the debut of the newest iPhone models in September, but you can still get great deals on iPhone 15 models at AT&T this week. The carrier is offering as much as $1,000 off select models of the iPhone 15, and great discounts on previous generation devices as well.

The headliner is $1,000 off the iPhone 15 Pro Max when you trade in your current smartphone and purchase the new iPhone on an eligible unlimited plan. This offer will be applied in bill credits over 36 months, and it knocks the monthly price of the 256GB iPhone 15 Pro Max down to around $5.56/month (from $33.34/month).

For the iPhone 15 Pro, AT&T is offering the 128GB model at no cost when you trade in your current smartphone and purchase the new iPhone on an eligible unlimited plan. This offer is the same as the previous one, so you'll see up to $1,000 applied in bill credits over 36 months, knocking the price of the 128GB iPhone 15 Pro down to $0/month (from $27.78/month).

iPhone 15 models are seeing up to $700 in discounts right now at AT&T, making the iPhone 15 as low as $3.62/month and the iPhone 15 Plus as low as $6.39/month. For even steeper savings, AT&T has the iPhone SE from 2022 for $1.99/month when purchased on a qualifying unlimited plan, but you don't need to have a trade-in for this offer.

If you're shopping for an Apple Watch, AT&T is offering $300 off in bill credits over 36 months when you purchase two Apple Watches on an installment plan. This covers Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Apple Watch SE.

Of course, there are also numerous deals on non-Apple smartphones, like the Google Pixel 9 Pro for free when you trade in any Pixel phone and purchase the new device on a qualifying installment plan. Additionally, AT&T has a big collection of Galaxy devices on sale, including the Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and more.

Head to our full Deals Roundup to get caught up with all of the latest deals and discounts that we've been tracking over the past week.

I've always found the carriers' "$1,000 off" and "on us" marketing to be a bit misleading as you (the customer) typically have to trade something of value as part of the deal. You're not necessarily getting "$1,000 off", it's more likely you're getting up to $750 off after trading in your device worth at least $250.

The other factor, of course, is that you have to stick with the carrier for 2 to 3 years to get the full "savings" which may or may not be a bad thing depending on the deal.

Wife and I are T-Mobile customers so I'm anxious to see what they offer as a counter to this. She's not wanting to upgrade and I'm on the fence over upgrading my 15 Plus.

Limited time offer.

You’ll need to:
  • Purchase an eligible smartphone on a qualifying installment agreement, including taxes on full retail price (up front) and $35 activation/upgrade fee.
  • Activate/keep postpaid eligible unlimited voice & data wireless service (min. $75.99/mo. if new before discounts. Existing customers can add to their current unlimited plan, if eligible, which may be less). AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy.
  • Trade-in an eligible smartphone in good working condition within 30 days of activation.
Then you’ll get:
  • Up to $1000 in bill credits on iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max only with smartphone trade-in value of $290 or higher
  • Up to $700 in bill credits with smartphone trade-in value of $130-$289
  • Up to $350 in bill credits with smartphone trade-in value of $35 to $129
Unlimited plan needs to be $75.99/mo

$75.99/mo x 36 months = $2,735.64 before taxes and fees.

I fail to see where the deal is unless you're an existing customer *and* on a family plan where the monthy price for a plan would be significantly less expensive per person.

They do the same promo every year, with six lines it saves us a ton of $ while allowing everyone to have great devices with little to no $ out of pocket when upgrading. Regarding three year contract - who changes carriers anymore? Cell service is a commodity.

Hear me out. Pay cash with Apple, own the phone, use any carrier you like. I have two so I can make sure I have coverage everywhere and 99% of the time I do.

Agreed! I absolutely refuse to involve my carrier when buying a phone.

We do; there are promos and deals and such for new customers. Wife has a line free for a year with spectrum. I'm paying $17.50/month for a line for a year. We buy our phones unlocked with cash.

Contacts or payment plans? No thanks.

Agree. Plus, my wife gets a 24% discount on ATT through work so even more of a no brainer. May go for this deal when it applies to the iPhone 16 Pro.

I spent a few minutes reading the linked website in this article...very confusing for me to figure out how much I would actually pay for a new iPhone 15 1TB model. Seems ATT wants to lock me in to monthly pricing in order to trade in my iPhone 13 Pro...why?! Anyway, so much for the "$0" option on that website! Classic shell game marketing and massive confusion to make it sound remotely like a deal.

There are people out there who switch from time to time. What they do is set up a Google Voice number as their primary number so they can be eligible to take advantage of the special new customers only offers from carriers.

But they're in the minority, just as a lot of people don't bother to shop around and check prices for auto and home insurance every X months or every year.

I understand that some people can't because wireless service might be bad where they live for certain carriers, but for those who can get good reception from multiple carriers, it pays to shop around every so often.

Reading the various comments I think that some people put more value on independence from the carrier than on the numbers. But as been pointed out, the AT&T trade-in deal is not a contract and anyone can leave at any time and keep the credits earned to date and just pay off the difference on the phone. So the deal can be used strategically if one plans to switch carriers later.

You refuse to pay less for a phone? I don't get it. How often do you change carriers? I've changed 1 time in 14 years and my current TMo bill is $80/month for 2 iphone 14 pros and 2 iphone 15 pros, 4 apple watches with cellular service and home internet.

When they say it’s too good to be true… as long as people are aware that you’re locked in for 3 years to get the full benefit and likely are on the most expensive plan, go for it … good thing we have choices

We have changed carriers 4 times in the last decade and my wife and I are on different carriers. I value independence from my carrier more than saving money.

The price of phones isn't an issue, plus we don't trade-in devices and prefer to hand them down or pass them along to family or friends that need one.

Mixed iPhone/android household.

Educate yourself. $75 for an unlimited line vs $30 with “discount“ carriers.
$45 over 36 years = $1600+

-$1000 still means you are paying $600 for the free Pro Max and they take your trade in, so even an iPhone 12 goes for $200 in trade, so paying $800 for that free phone.

For the ProMax, it is a slight discount. For the lesser models, it’s a wash or worse.

If you are in the market for the most expensive models, you come out ahead with this deal compared to someone like mint or spectrum with cheaper service but no iPhone discounts.

For the less expensive 15s, there is no value in these offers. You are just locked into ATT for 36 months.

To each their own, but I don't understand why anyone would finance a smartphone. I pay for my smartphones up front, every time. I will not be beholden to any carrier or finance company.

Ah no. Even if were an ATY&T subscriber, I'd rather trade in my iPhone 12 256 GB for an iPhone 16 Plus 512 GB or an iPhone 16 Pro 6.3" 512 GB (if the price is right).

Pay more for the plan, yes, but also pay less for the phone. Maybe there is a combination of plans and phones that is less expensive but for the Pro line it's hard to beat this deal.
