Unlimited plan needs to be $75.99/mo

$75.99/mo x 36 months = $2,735.64 before taxes and fees.

I fail to see where the deal is unless you're an existing customer *and* on a family plan where the monthy price for a plan would be significantly less expensive per person.
The vast majority of customers have 3 lines. Without discounts, that’s $45.99 a line. There are larger discounts to get the price per line down even further.

anyone not using a MVNO by this point in time are hitting a huge fail. Most of these carriers have priority data now for an even $25 a month unlimited everything. I'm always flabbergasted when I see people paying upwards of $100 for a single line.
There is no true unlimited plan for $25 a month for a single line. Read the fine print.

Carrier deals are to brainwash people who don't know math. You usually have to get the highest plan which is just stupid to feel like you're getting a deal when they give you $1000 back for your phone.
Nah, the only stupid information is the information in your comment. You don’t need the highest plan to do a trade in deal.

Sure, sell your 15 Pro Max to Apple for $380 and call it a day, instead of getting $1,000.
Well first of all, trading in and buying it unlocked means you don't have to buy one of the most expensive plans and you can use it with any carrier and plan that you want. If you do the math, this could save you money pretty easily. And second, Apple is offering $620 for the 14 pro max, so the value will likely be almost the same for the 15 Pro Max as well.

But it all depends on how many lines you have. If you only have a single line, paying $76/month just to get an extra $380 in trade in savings makes no sense. Maybe it makes more sense if you have multiple lines, but even then I hate the idea of being locked into a plan.

Nothing new to see here folks. This is the same deal AT&T has had since the beginning of the year. Unlike 15pm launch deals, the 12PM is no longer included in eligible for the $1000.

Better to wait and see what the new 16 series will have before buying an iPhone today.

Or if you want actual unlimited data that doesn't get throttled, and U.S based customer service.

Not sure about the other carriers, but AT&T also allows customers to borrow up to $1,200 towards accessories over 12 months -- no credit check and no interest.

Also, no other carrier other than AT&T provides a network solely made for First Responders.

Straight Talk, for example, isn't unlimited, even though their advertisement says so.
Many also report being capped at 60GB.
You're also paying $45-$55 a line, no matter how many lines you have.

Boost Mobile... $25 for one line --- Only 30 GB of "high speed data" for their "unlimited."

With Visible --- you're stuck with Verizon's crappy "5G network" that you'll have to switch to 4G to get anything to load.

Spectrum will always raise your introductory rate after the first year and caps your data to 50GB.

The smart solution is to get either your family or your buddies together and get a 3-5 line plan with more features and capabilities. You're also screwed if you need in person help. SIM card fried? "Sorry, you're out of service for a couple of days until we can send you a new one." Want a new phone today? "Sorry, we'll have it on your doorstep in 2-3 days."

Correct. You need the second highest plan for this deal. It's in the T&C
Unlimited Starter is 3 levels down. If you count FirstNet, it's 4 levels down.
Value Plus is the only unlimited plan that doesn't allow trade ins.

They lost me when they jacked up my original grandfathered unlimited plan to $90.

I pay $35 now for the same without all the hoops.
Chances are your grandfathered plan wasn't as good as the newer plans, and also more expensive at the same tme.

Unlimited Premium is $75 w/autopay + signature discount (which everyone qualifies for). Includes non-throttled data, unlimited talk, unlimited text, and 60 GB of hotspot, unlimited talk, text, data in Latin America countries, and unlimited to Canada and Mexico.

Not sure why you were so keen on keeping your "grandfathered plan" that didn't offer anything better.

Hear me out. Pay cash with Apple, own the phone, use any carrier you like. I have two so I can make sure I have coverage everywhere and 99% of the time I do.
You have 2 phones on 2 different carriers so you make sure you have service 99% of the time. Seems a tad excessive.

I know it's just a MR ad, but this is not a new deal. They've been running very slight variations of this since the 15s launched. Got a 15 plus for $5/mo with no trade required a couple of months ago.

The terms say plan minimum is $75.99/month, which is their unlimited extra plan.
I work for AT&T. $75.99 before the $10 auto-pay discount. Unlimited Starter qualifies for trades.

If you're military/a veteran, a teacher, a first responder.... You're paying much less for 1 line. Around 25% less.

The terms also say existing customers can add their existing unlimited line, which may be less. New customers have to sign up for the $75.99 plan. Which of course is less if you add more lines.
It's clear you don't know anything about AT&T. FirstNet is for first responders. Their plan starts at $39.99 and there's a $45 option for those who want unlimited hotspot tethering. ALL FirstNet plans qualify for trades and even promos that the average citizen doesn't get.

You’re correct, I want nothing to do with that network. I don’t know what I’m talking about, so I’ll stop now :)

I hope to do this for the 16. I also get a discount for having ATT fiber internet. Problem is I only have one line.

Hostage? You own a car or a home? Do you change lenders every other month on those or are you a "hostage" too? I'm happy with ATT and have no interest in wasting time switching carriers every other month for the "best deal". I've compared our 5 lines to Verizon and TM, and don't really see any savings by switching (and the hassle of doing so for all the family members).
Apples and oranges. By the time somebody other than you gets out of their 36-month term of cellular imprisonment, they will most likely have paid twice the $750 credit (accounting for trade in) or more for that "freebie" compared with a more reasonable plan. Plus it's now a one-year-old device. So they're just clearing out inventory on your dime.
