iPhone 12 AT&T Trade In promo

Has anyone taken advantage of the AT&T $700 trade-in promo? I am trying to figure out if it is a good deal or if I would be better off doing the installment plan and selling my phone through Swappa since it's paid off? If my XS meets all the criteria and I have an unlimited plan, do I get the $700? When I tried to do it online it said my monthly payment would be around $3.33.

AT&T Trade In... $800 bucks?

The "Special Carrier Offer" from Apple's website says they will give up to $800 in bill credits with a trade in of an iPhone 8 or newer... I'm not just seeing things here, right? Is this common practice to get such high trade in value at launch dates?

I traded an XS Max and got the full credit for a 12 Pro Max. Great deal IMO. Easy process as well.
