Just had a pop up message saying carrier settings updated. Tried FaceTime over cellular and it worked.

Same here! I got the notification on my ipad 3 and it now works over cellular. Long time unlimited subscriber.

Only work if you have LTE.

Mine works just fine on 4G right out side San Jose today. I have grandfathered unlimited on both my iPhone 5 and iPad 3. Even works with LTE off on my iphone 5 and iPad 3.

I let the kids FaceTime with the grandparent about 30-45 minutes today.
I'm glad AT&T is starting to let me use what I pay for the way I want to use it.
