After talking with some AT&T reps im considering switching to this Unlimited Data plan. For those of you that have done it are you forced to combine billing with your Directv or is it just a question of confirming that you have service to confirm eligibility? I like the idea of the plan but don't want to combine billing.

you just have to confirm the accounts you dont have to combine bills , i think if you combine them you get like 10% off

You do not have to combine them but, they did have a promotion that gave $10/month discount for doing so.

You do not have to combine your billing. They just verify the addresses on file are the same in order for you to be eligible for the unlimited data. I have it and I loveeee it. Plus it's cheaper than my 40GB family plan I had lol.

what is the plan?
Unlimited talk, text and data (throttles after 22gb).... $100 for one line, +$40 for each additional line(each line gets the 22gb before throttling), and 4th smartphone line is free if you have 4 lines.

It would be a no brainer if they offered some sort of hot spot support.
I don't need it to be unlimited also but I still need it.

Yea like at least of 5 gigs of hotspot would be nice.

It sure would, but I don't think any carrier plan that offers unlimited allow you to hotspot. I may be wrong though. I'm just glad they offer unlimited again.

AT&T can throttle individual lines after 22gb of usage on that line. So if you have 4 lines on the plan and one line goes over 22gb in a billing period, only that line is affected, for the remainder of the same billing period, and throttling is possible in high traffic areas.

We've had this plan for about 3 months now, and have 5 lines on our plan. Three times in the 3 months has any line gone over 22gb, and none have actually been throttled to any perceptible level.

You do not have to combine AT&T and DirecTV billing, but you do get a discount if you do. If for any reason you cancel DirecTV, you must choose another plan from the available offerings. There's no guaranteed "go back" to where you were before selecting this plan.

Hotspot is not possible.

Indeed, a more detailed version of what I said. But I did forget to mention that they *can* throttle at 22gb but they don't always do so... and that your current plan isn't guaranteed if you ever choose to go back.

We recently gave up our grandfathered unlimited for this new plan. They just wanted our DirecTV act # just to enter into the system and verify. Our AT&T and DirecTV accounts have remained separate :D And it's a savings!!

In all reality we don't NEED unlimited....the most data we've ever used was about 10gig between our 2 lines.

I'm a Rep at an ATT corporate store. You don't have to combine bills to be eligible for the unlimited plan. Billing address has to match for both. Also, I saw a few people mention the discount for combining. That is not the case anymore. That combined bill discount promotion ended a few months ago.

Karpeltunnel10, Is it true that the $25 discount for DirectTVNow only works if you are currently a full retail paying customer? $60/mo? I was 'grandfathered' into that back in 2016 when they offered it for $35 during then rocky rollout in the beginning.

I'm already on the "DIRECTV" unlimited data plan. Wireless tethering is not included in this plan but, it is included in the new unlimited plan.

Will ATT also allow tethering on the "DIRECTV" unlimited plan now ?

Chat rep told me I had to be signed up for autopay on my AT&T account to get the 25 dollars off my Directv on the new unlimited plus plan. Is that correct?

I was told that you don't have to use auto pay for the $25 off. If you add auto pay, it will give you another $10 off for a total of $35 off. As long as your Directv and att addresses are the same.

That is how I took it from readying the fine print. The auto pay gave you the additional $10 off.

The chat rep I spoke to said if I had the $35 plan, not that discounted plan, then I would be eligible for the $25 discount.

Who can believe them anymore though.
