I am planning on purchasing an iPad Pro. I currently have an iPad 3 with an AT&T Unlimited Data place that I first signed up for when I bought my original iPad. Does anyone know if I will be able to transfer unlimited data plan to my new iPad Pro when I purchase it?

I've had an AT&T unlimited iPad plan since Apr 2010. Moved from the iPad 1, to iPad 3, to iPad Mini w/ Retina, to iPad Air2... Just log into the new iPad Pro and you will be prompted to move your plan over. Shouldn't be a problem.

I also have had the unlimited data plan since the first ipad came out. Really excited about switching it to the Ipad Pro! :)

I am planning on moving my unlimited data plan to the Pro as well. Has anyone actually asked AT&T if this will be allowed? A minor point, I realize, but I thought worth asking.

No need to ask if "allowed". Long as you have the plan, you are good to use in any mobile device (iPad, tablet, hotspot).

I transferred as well. I called ATT before I got my new iPad and the rep told me that I would have to come to a store to get a new SIM card. But that actually wasn't needed. When setting up the iPad, I went to Cellular and it asks if you want to transfer from another plan. You login with your password and in less than a minute the cellular was activated on the new iPad and off the old one.

I have a question for everyone who has the iPad unlimited data session based. Someone got into my account and closed my account. Will att reopen it based off of me not closing it? This is an amazing plan for 29.99 and don't want it gone. Anyone have issues with account closing then getting it back?

I'd call them asap and argue your case but be prepared to be disappointed . I've heard horror stories regarding the unlimited iPhone plan where the att rep was actually the one to accidentally change the plan while serving a different customer request only to have to tell the customer that they were sorry out of luck even though it was completely an att mistake. Good luck.

Yea this one is different then the cell phone one. This one is session based prepaid 29.99 unlimited data so I hope they treat it differently

Yes, I know they are different. My point was that with those discontinued grandfathered plans, att has not been very forgiving when they are cancelled for whatever reason, even if it's their own mistake. No one here is going to be able to help you more than calling att would...

Yea I already put a case in quickly. Within 5 minutes of me finding out it was cancelled I put in a claim to resolve it so now it says it's pending and they are reviewing it

The wife and I both transferred our unlimited AT&T data plans from iPad 3. Easy. Works great.

My wife had her CC cloned two different times and forgot to update the payment card on her iPad. After getting the failed payment email, the option for unlimited LTE was still there to select when we "repurchased" her data. Never had a problem.

Yea mine was closed in the email I was sent. And I didn't close it.

How much is that plan? Is it the no contract deal?

I also am grandfathered into the unlimited data plan from AT&T. Have transferred it from the original iPad to two iPad minis so far. Will transfer it to an iPad pro when they are updated in March. Can't wait.
