I have a family plan with two 3G iPhones that were both purchased when they were introduced last July. My question being is that one iPhone 3G replaced a first generation and was subsidized ($299) and the second iPhone 3G was not eligible for subsidy and I paid ($499); shouldn't the seconde phone purchased at full price be eligible now? AT&T shows that it is not eligible for upgrade until March 2010 and I have spoken to different people there and they seem very confused. My first, subsidized, iPhone is eligible July 2009 for upgrade. Is anyone else in this situation having a nonsubsidized iPhone not being eligible for upgrade now?

When you paid $499 for the other line, you still received an "early upgrade" price; meaning partially subsidized. The retail price of the 3G iPhone is $599/699 depending on storage. That's the reason it's still not eligible for an upgrade.
